Even though Rosh Chodesh is technically only one day of the month, the ancients sometimes celebrated more than one day (see I Sam. 20:1-27). It is recognized as a two-day observance on many modern Jewish calendars. It is a time of joy and celebration, though it is not called a mo’adim or sabbath.
